The film Public Enemies was filmed in many areas of Wisconsin and while many resisdents where able to see some of the filming of the movie and even become extras, it was exciting to watch these events unfold through the media.
On the fourth of July weekend we went to a car show and several of the cars on display were used in the movie Public Enemies. As I stood there and look at the photos they displayed of Johnny getting in the car, and read through some of the newspaper clippings I wondered about how this was all put together.
It was exciting enough for me just to know I was standing next to the car that one of my favorite actors may have rode in. But when you think of all of it takes to make one film it can be a bit overwhelming. From hiring all the actors and film crew to finding locations to shoot on, arranging costumes and finding these unique cars from the era it takes time and money to get this done.
Once it's all done and put together it's fun to see different landmarks from your state show up in the film. As you watch things pass by you need to watch the movie more than once in order not to miss anything.

I may be showing my age but back in 1988 I was able to attend the filiming at the ballpark of the movie Major League. I got to see Charlie Sheen and other actors run around in the field and it took several hours just to shoot one scene. Thinking that maybe I could be seen in the crowd once the movie was shown at the theater I never saw myself in the large audience of the stadium . Although one of the men I worked with at the time got a minor part in the movie playing a baseball player in the outfield and showed up in several scenes.
If you ever get the chance to watch a movie being filmed in your town it's fun to watch and learn and maybe even participate in the shooting of the movie.
I guess the closet I will ever get to meeting Johnny Depp is at the movies.
