Farrah Fawcett died at 9:28 AM today (June 25, 2009). Ryan O'Neal and Alana Stewart were at her bedside. She was 62. She died at St. John's hospital in Santa Monica in the ICU. Also present -- Farrah's longtime friend and hairdresser, Mila Murphy, and Dr. Piero, who has been caring for her.
She became famous in the 1970's after starring in Charlie's Angels. Well know for her famous hair style, beauty, as well as her acting abilities. She proved to us that she was an angel to watch.
Farrah tackled serious roles after leaving Charile's Angels. One of her better know roles was as a abused wife in The Burning Bed.
Farrah was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and went through a long and stressful battle with the disease. Her story was recently on ABC news documenting how she was battling the her condition along with a short biography of her life.
Barabra Walters was on The View today talking about her current special and interview with Ryan O'Neal that was taped just before her death and will air on Friday.
Ryan O'Neal just released the following: "After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away. Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."
